Which Revit versions are supported?

Templates are built in Revit 2024 and open in 2024 and every version after it. Revit will not open a file made in a newer release than the one you are running, so 2024 is the floor — if you are on 2022 or 2023, write to us before you buy rather than after. The plugins go further back: they run from Revit 2022 upwards.

Are the families parametric?

Accepted Answer

In Pro, yes — every family in it is parametric, so a type is driven by its parameters rather than being one more fixed variant to load. Core is the other way round: its 100 families and their subfamilies are fixed sizes, ready to place but not parameter-driven. That is the main thing the step from Core to Pro buys, alongside the schedules, the working and presentation title blocks and the preset sheets.

What is the difference between the Bulgarian and International edition?

The Bulgarian edition ships with БДС-format title blocks, schedules structured for Bulgarian regulations (наредби), Cyrillic annotation styles and BG sheet nomenclature. The International edition uses ISO title blocks, EU/metric conventions and English annotation. They are two separate products, so you choose one at checkout — Core and Pro each come in both. Pro+, when it is ready, includes both.

How do I pay?

You cannot yet — the shop is not open. Every Buy button says so and offers to let you know when it opens. If you want something before then, write to support@datumbim.com and we will invoice you directly, by bank transfer if you prefer.

Who am I actually buying from?

Accepted Answer

From DATUM directly. The shop is not open, so there is no merchant of record standing between us yet: anything bought before there is one is arranged, invoiced and supported by us, and the reply says so. Who DATUM is, in the legal sense, is on the company details page — that part is not delegated to anybody.

When do I get the file?

There is nothing to pay for here yet. An order arranged by e-mail is delivered once we have confirmed it, within one working day.

Question 7

Is there VAT, and do I get an invoice?

Accepted Answer

Prices on the site are shown with VAT included, estimated at 20%. There is no checkout applying a real rate yet, so treat that 20% as the placeholder it is. An order arranged by e-mail is invoiced by us and the invoice states exactly what is charged — ask before you pay anything and you will be told. If you would rather read prices net, there is a VAT switch next to the currency.

Can I change my mind after buying a template?

Yes, subject to one exception that matters for downloads. You have 14 days to withdraw from a distance purchase without giving a reason — but for digital content delivered immediately, that right is lost once delivery starts with your express agreement and your acknowledgement that you are giving it up. You are asked for both at checkout, in those words. If you have not downloaded yet, the 14 days are untouched. The refunds page sets out both routes, and how we handle a file that turns out to be faulty, which is a separate right and is not lost by downloading.

And if I want to stop a plugin subscription?

Accepted Answer

Simpler, because there is nothing to give back. Cancel it — from your account page, or by writing to us, whichever you prefer — and that is the end of it. The tools keep working until the period you have already paid for runs out, and then they stop. We do not take another payment after you cancel, there is no notice period, no cancellation fee, and nobody will ask you why. If you cancel an hour after paying for a month, you still have that month.

Can I use the template commercially?

Yes — on as many of your own projects as you like, paid work included. That is what it is for. The licence is per seat: it covers you, on the machines you work on.

We are a studio — how does that work?

Accepted Answer

As a custom job rather than a bigger box. There used to be an office tier on this page and it has gone, because a template that a whole studio documents to is never really the same file with more seats on it: it wants your title block, your weights, your nomenclature and your family set, or half the office quietly goes back to their own. So an office standard is quoted — see Custom template on the services page — and the quote covers the licence for everyone in it. If all you want is a few more seats of the standard template as it comes, write to us and we will price that instead; it is a smaller conversation.

How are the plugins delivered and installed?

One installer for all of them: run it and a DATUM tab appears on the Revit ribbon, with every tool on it. What your licence key unlocks decides which ones do anything — the rest say what they are and where to get them. It carries a separate build for Revit 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027, and puts the right one into every Revit it finds on the machine.

How many computers can I use a plugin licence on?

One at a time. A licence activates on a single machine, and a second one is refused rather than quietly allowed — we would rather you found that out here than at your desk. Moving to another computer is not a purchase: free the seat from your account page, or write to us, and activate the new machine. If you genuinely need two at once — a desktop and a site laptop — tell us before you buy and we will price it, rather than sell you a licence that will stop you.

Are the plugins finished?

No, and they say so. Every version of the DATUM BIM add-in released so far is a beta build, including the one you can download today. The tools are used on real projects daily and what is there works — but a command can still fail, wording and interfaces can still change, and a tool can still be reworked between versions. Everything a command writes into the model is an ordinary Revit transaction, so Ctrl+Z undoes it. Calling it a beta does not reduce your rights if something is faulty: the conformity terms apply in full. The version and its beta label are shown on the download, in the licence window and in the manual.

How does plugin pricing work?

Monthly. Four of the eighteen tools are free and stay free. The other fourteen are €3 to €9 a month each depending on what they do, and taking all of them together is €50 a month, or €40 a month paid a year at a time. You are always on the newest version, and cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. Plugins are not sold outright; templates still are. One caveat while all of that is true: none of it can be bought yet. Recurring billing is not switched on, so a plugin arranged by e-mail is invoiced by hand, and nothing is charged automatically until there is a subscription for you to agree to.

Can you build a plugin just for my office?

Yes. Custom plugin development starts at €400: we map the workflow together, you approve a fixed quote before any work starts, and delivery is typically one to three weeks with a twelve-month bug-fix warranty. "From €400" is a floor for a single, well-defined automation — a tool with a real interface, several commands or Revit-model logic behind it is quoted higher, and you see the number before you agree to anything.

What does a custom build include?

A template built from zero around your graphic standard — line weights, text and dimension styles, title blocks, browser organisation, nomenclature and a tested family set — piloted on one of your real projects before handover, and licensed for everyone in the office.
